This event is generously sponsored by the Children's Trust of Alachua County. If you live in Alachua County and participate in programs like WIC, Medicaid, Medicare, or SNAP, you may be eligible to receive a car seat at no cost. Must provide proof of enrollment. One car seat per child.

A car seat is one of the most effective ways to keep your child safe while on the road, but making sure it’s used correctly can be tricky. During your car seat checkup appointment, our nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician(s) will work with you in a hands-on, educational session to ensure your child’s seat is installed properly. You'll leave feeling confident in both the installation and your ability to do it yourself in the future.

To help you get the most out of your appointment, here are a few tips to prepare:

• Try installing the car seat in your vehicle ahead of time
• Bring the instruction manual for your car seat
• Bring your vehicle’s owner’s manual
• If your child has already arrived, make sure you know their current weight and height
